Well i keep downloading sanbox and its saying "missing link" and thats its searching for it and it never finds it... soo i go tto browse and click the link i use to start the game.... nothing comes up... plzzz help me!

Ok sry, ive downloaded the sandbox 2, the first one it says to download... everything downloads ok then i click the Sandbox shortcut on my desktop. It then says missing short cut "windowns is looking for the correct ling... blah blah blah" then it says Browse or Cancel... i click browse and then select my BF2 link on my desktop. I then click the Sandbox link again then loads the game... when it comes to the mainscreen its just like the main game and nothing is different. how to i load the sandbox mode?
Oh I know this problem.
1. Go to my computer at the start option of your computer. (I recommend using Windows Explorer)
2. Go to local disk (name of disk)
3. Go to program files and go to the EA games directory
4. Go to Battlefield 2 and mods
5. Click Sandbox and you will see a few different items
6. You want to use StartNormal.exe or StartWindowed.exe

Ok i clicked it an nothing is coming up, Just popping up with cmd and exiting... when i start BF2 and it does the updating process does this mean its updated to the latest version?

Ok let me get you a bit better guide.
Problem with what you are having: When I double click the Sandbox icon (the icon that has a 2 and a rectangular box) It starts and has a black screen. It gives some sort of error message (can't remember srry) and I can't play the game! (If this is not your problem then please tell me)
SOLUTION!:
1. First you must press the start button (with your mouse please) usually in the lower left corner of your computer screen.
2. You will see a variety of things there such as "All Programs," "My Computer," and some other stuff. You need to press the button that says "My Computer."
3. You will get a screen with many different options. On the left side if you are using xp it will be blue and don't worry about that side. We want to use the right side. Double click on Local Disk (C:). If you don't have a local disk C then it is probably a different letter such as Local Disk (D:) or Local Disk (A:).
4. You will see more options. Double click Program Files. You will have this.
5. You should see different folders. You might have to scroll down using the mouse wheel. Find the folder that says EA Games and double click it.
6. You will see your games from EA here. Find the Battlefield 2 folder and double click it.
7. Now double click the Mods button.
8. Double click the Sandbox folder.
9. You will see many thing here. DON'T CLICK ANYTHING YET!!! Now you will double click the Start Normal.bat. It won't have the same icon as the Sandbox icon you get on your desktop.
10. You will get a black rectangular box on your screen. Press the "X" button on it to exit out and the game will start.
That will get you started for now. Any questions just post them. I will make another guide here for saving at some point (maybe). Don't worry about it now just test the game. This is about as simple a guide I can make so good luck with it.

Uhm I'm not sure what you mean by this but you don't update through game. If you don't have patch 1.5 then go to the EA website to get it.
How do i check what version my game is at?
Your version has to be the same as the one in the image.

and so long u didnt instal the 1.41 and the 1.5 patch, you are sure u dont have patch 1.5.
do u have to install the patches manually?
ohhhh ok, thought the game update which starts at the begging of the game does it, i need to install path 1.4 and 1.5 then??

Yes, for some reason you need to have 1.41 installed if you want to install 1.5.
